What To Expect On Sunday

  • What is the worship and teaching like?

We preach expositionally, teaching through books of the Bible verse by verse, explaining as we go and connecting it to our lives today. About 45 minutes of the service is dedicated to the sermon.

    Colossians 3:16 instructs the Church:

Let the word of Christ dwell richly among you, in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another through psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.

With this as our goal, we strive for a musical worship expression that is focused on the fact that we are together as the people of God. This impacts the songs we sing, the instrumentation, the lighting, the volume, and more. Our hope is that both the 18 and 88-year-old can join in song to glorify Christ. On a Sunday morning, we’ll spend around 15 minutes worshipping with a mix of newer and older songs and hymns.

  • What do you have for kids?

Our children’s ministry partners with families to grow little disciples who love God because they understand they are loved by God. We teach children the Gospel, the overall story of the Bible, and who they are in Christ (while eating some snacks, doing some crafts, and playing some games along the way).

Our nursery and classes up to preschool age are located on the main floor, with K-5th grade located downstairs.

Please note that no staffed classrooms are available at the 7:15am service.

  • Where is New Heights located?

New Heights is located on the corner of Thayer and Duportail streets in Richland.

From the 240 Bypass in Richland, go east on Duportail for about half a mile until you come to Thayer. We are straight ahead on the right.

If you’re coming via Wellsian Way in Richland, turn west onto Duportail, and at the top of the hill, we'll be on the left.

  • Where do I park?

Parking is available in the main lot to the south and the gravel lot to the north, on the other side of the roundabout.

  • How long are your services?

Our services last about 65 minutes, with worship, short announcements, and then the sermon. Feel free to linger afterward to meet people and grab more coffee or donuts!

  • What should I wear?

On a Sunday morning, you’ll see everything from suits and ties to pearl snaps, cowboy hats, hoodies, and jeans. Our focus is on honoring God and one another. So, we encourage you to wear whatever you feel that looks like for you.
